History:
In the 90s Isak started making music with his friend Thomas, aka. Il Caesar. With melodic synth-pop, inspired
by bands such as Depeche Mode and The Human League they soon became a hit in the 90s. After a while Isak
teams up with his new friend Bendik to make trance music. In the late 90s they decided to set all other things
aside, and just focus on the new act 'Doctor No' and to "make the perfect trance album". Four months later
their breakthrough hit is finished. A demo for 'Lastima' is sent to all the major record companies, which
soon struggle to get their signatures. Two months later, in February 2000, they sign a massive
deal with Warner Music. The first single 'Lastima' becomes a huge hit in Norway.
The rest of Scandinavia releases the single a couple of months later, and Doctor No reaches high positions all
over Scandinavia on radio charts and sales lists.
It also reaches number one at MTV Nordic Top 5. In 2001 the album "Fat Sound To The Masses" is released in
Scandinavia, Sweden, Austria, Finland and Japan.
For two years they are traveling around with 'Doctor No', playing at major club scenes alongside bands such as
Snap, Sash, Darude:
"It's great to do what you love most - traveling around, and get to meet that many exiting people" Isak says.
Live shows in Norway includes playing for 20.000 at 'We Love The 90s' on Telenor Arena, and more than 50.000
at VG-lista Topp 20 at Rådhusplassen, Oslo.
In 2002 Isak signs a new deal with Bonnier Music/Nice & Firm Denmark for the project 'Disco Valente'. The single 'I see music' reached #1 at the Scandinavian Dance Chart, and was rewarded with great reviews in UK club magazines.
In 2003 a new dance act, 'Freeloader', is born, where Isak invites the singer Hanne Romsaas to join the act. The first demo 'Pure Devotion' was quickly picked up by the Danish indie label BIG STAR RECORDS and EMI Publishing. The single 'Pure Devotion' was presented for the first time at the Miami Winter Music Conference last week of March 2003, and during spring, summer and autumn 2003 it has been one of the most played tracks at clubs throughout the world with support from DJ's such as Judge Jules, Tiesto, Dave Pearce, Marco V, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren, Johan Gielen and Blank & Jones. Judge Jules ranked it as top 10 for over a half year on his BBC Radio One show. The single is compiled in excess of more than one million units and was also included on all Samsung mobile phones the years following.
In 2008 Isak teams up with a new companion, Alexander Bjørneboe, for the new electronic act Electro Spectre. The vision of the band is to deliver a union between the past and present of electronic synth-pop, using modern music technology and vintage synths from the 1980s. When the bands second album 'Dangerous Game' came out in 2012, Side-Line Magazine stated that Electro Spectre had made the best electropop album in the world that year. Electro Spectre have additionally released more than 40 albums, singles and compilations. With Electro Spectre Isak have also toured frequently the recent years, and has been part of electronic music festivals all over the world. The band have supported great bands such as Marsheaux, Zeromancer, Covenant, Melotron and Mesh to mention a few.
2024 started with the launch of the new act Bérèche You, and in the near future Crab Key will release the new act ICX.
